Better Than Not

So many times I have thought that I just cannot do something.  I waited too long, I’m too old or too young, there is no point and so on.  One day I was giving the missionaries from my church a ride to a town that was an hour away.  I was busy with oil pumps and had to work late, and even later since I gave the missionaries the ride.

When I told my wife about it later I remember saying, “It’s good to be around the missionaries, or at least it is better than not being around them.”

For whatever reason that really stuck out to me.  How many things that we decide to do or not do are better for us if we do them?  Many times things are binary, it is simply better that we did them.  Of course there are those things that we have done that it would have been better that we didn’t, but I find that there are many more things that we should have done that we didn’t.

Safeguarding time by not using it?

One of my faults is that I won’t do many things cause it takes up time…time that I could be doing something more important…as soon as I find out what that is.  Or time that I could be sleeping…since I always need to catch up on sleep.  It seems that I always hoard my time thinking that it will help me, when really, the time passes whether I do something with it or not.  So, simply put, it is better to do something with the time you have, rather than nothing.

Somewhere Someone has it Worse than You

I really hate this saying, people always say it to me when I am ramping up to do better and change for the better and move up and on in life, and they say it to me so that I calm down and become placid and not work harder at becoming something better.

I want to actually say that I am grateful for where I am at now, it was better than a few months ago.  And to put it in perspective our new neighbours are in the situation that we were in not too long ago, no vehicle, no job, all stress and pregnant.  It is scary, and I don’t know how to tell them without being insensitive (hey I am not a jerk I have been helping them with their car all this last week!) that the world does not care, just keep trying, that is all you can do and things will get better, and about 10-100 times slower than you hope, but they will get better.

Someone may always have it worse than you, but make it because you are always better than the you the month before!

No, Android is Better!

I just thought of this title in the Adam Sandler voice when he was having the Shampoo and Conditioner battle who was better… but why it says Android is because an article I read said that Android took dominate market share of the smartphone/mobile devices market.  To be honest is is pretty darn close with iOS, but it not any wonder why Android finally came out on top.

Here are some of the obvious reasons:
*  Android is not hindered or denied by iTunes.
*  There is nothing that deletes everything for no reason cause you connected your device to someone else’s computer…*cough iTunes*
*  It is not restrictively expensive to develop for Android.
*  You can make really cool and intuitive apps that compete with Google software and you are not kicked off the Android Market…
*  Android can be on many devices, from the very expensive to the very cheap.
*  With an open platform, advancements can move much quicker in the software.

So yeah, I hope to see Android get around 75% market share or more…then maybe Apple can make the iPhone for running Android OS….that would be awesome!
